Joseph Peter Walter

  General Notes:

Joe Walter was born on the home farm where he was to spend the rest of his life. He was educated at the Beatty school and the Perisho Academy at Chapel, Missouri. He was an avid reader and a spirited conversationalist who chose farming as his vocation.

He and his wife "Sade" raised as a foster son Earnest Lee Mitzell, who was born February 26, 1923. They also tendered the hospitality of their home for lengthy periods to LeRay Martin, Dick Buckingham, and Tracey Corder.

Joe was known as an excellent farmer and took pride in the maintenance of his soil fertility. He continued to farm on the Walter home place until his death from a heart attack while working in his yard.

Joseph married Sarah Bernice "Sade" Porter on 20 Jan 1928. (Sarah Bernice "Sade" Porter died on 1 Jan 1979 in Unionville, Putnam County, Missouri.)
